Since June 2016 I have been working from The Coach House Studios in Wirksworth every Tuesday.

Please call or text – 07905 507 224 – or email to make an appointment.

Charge: – I operate a sliding scale based on income:

Initial treatment               £30-£50
Follow up treatments      £20-£40

I am passionate that acupuncture treatment can be accessible to all people who want it and use a charging system which makes this possible. All I ask is that you pay what you can afford. This might change from week to week and I’m open to that.

Acupuncture can treat a wide range of conditions; physical, mental and emotional. It is used to restore well-being, health and vitality by enhancing energy and immunity. It is an ancient therapy (evidence suggests it has been used for over 5000 years). For sure it has changed a lot in that time but it has proven itself to be both relevant and successful with lots of today’s health conditions. It is recognised to help: recovery from injuries, sprains and strains; acute conditions like colds and headaches; chronic conditions including gynaecological, immune function and mental health issues. There are benefits to many other short / long term health problems. Acupuncture is a treatment that encourages the body to heal its self. It alleviates health issues by treating the root cause of a problem (not only the symptoms) and the body as a whole, this enables people to get better and to stay better.

Aside from using needles (I realise not everyone likes the idea of needles) I use a number of other traditional healing techniques such as

Cupping: Using suction cups on specific areas of the body.
Moxibustion: Burning moxa (a herb) around specific areas to stimulate healing
Gua Sha: A form of deep tissue massage

Alongside acupuncture I have a long time love of herbal remedies / medicines, they can help support recovery in both acute and chronic illness. While I have no formal qualification in this area, I worked in a natural pharmacy for almost 10 years.

I love the fact that acupuncture is such a versatile therapy and that I can help a wide range of people, from digger drivers to expectant mothers in any one ‘normal’ day.

About me

I qualified as an acupuncturist in 2004 from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine. There are many different styles of acupuncture, originally I trained in two of these, Five Elements and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Using both theories enables me to be versatile in my practice, different ways suit different people.
